X-rings are designed with four lobes with a cross section that provides twice the sealing surface in comparison to a standard O-ring. X-rings can be utilized both in static and dynamic application. The double seal action makes less friction and improved seal life; moreover, the cross section resists spiral twisting and extrusion. With its special profile, the ring does not tend to twist in the groove during reciprocating movement. The recessed parting lines provide no flash to avoid contacting the surface, thus eliminating the problems of leakage often resulting from a parting lines irregular surface which found on an O-ring. X-rings are available in O-ring standard sizes.
