Axial face seals (Gamma seals) are designed to be attached on the shaft for sealing against a perpendicular counterface. Axial face seals are a combination of the high speed capacity of standard mechanical seals with the simplicity of radial lip seals. The advantages of axial face seals are that they can be utilized as either a primary or a backup seal and do an excellent job as a deflector of foreign materials, especially at higher speed. Agricultural equipment, electric motors, and wheel hubs are the typical applications that axial face can work on its performance. We provide RE and RE1 types for Axial face seals.
